The i7 is also built better and feels more durable. It is robust, has lower maintenance requirements, incurs lower recurring costs, is faster to charge, and offers comparable battery performance and much more advanced automation features such as no-go zones and the capability to choose specific rooms to keep clean.

4. iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combo is a rare beast, as it does both jobs very efficiently. iRobot's Combo j7+ offers all the advantages of its j7-based counterpart, including self-emptying and LiDAR mapping, but also includes additional features for both mopping and vacuuming.

The j7+ uses the new acoustic sensor to detect the type of floor which allows it to clean or mop the area during its initial pass. This information is also utilized to help prioritize cleaning rooms with carpets and rug versus those with hard flooring.

Like most robotic vacuums, the j7+ is surprisingly quiet while it's running. It's quieter when mopping. The maximum reading of 64 decibels on our decibel meter is similar to office chatter.

It's simple to establish a schedule for cleaning and change the way that the j7+ operates when its dust bin is full. The j7+ can also be controlled by voice assistants like Alexa, Google Assistant and other. for a hands-free approach and the app allows you to create and explore maps of your home.

In our tests, the J7+ performed admirably on carpeted and hard floors, cleaning most of the dirt we tossed at it. It has a hard time dealing with pet hair, large debris and sand.
