1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs line of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet includes the updated AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system from Ecovacs, which provides enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. It uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind is used in self-driving cars and is able to scan up to 32 feet by 270 degrees. This means more precise mapping as well as faster response time and better cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat made of chenille. This makes it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than conventional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over one minute to wash its pad before getting to work, and I noticed that it was more precise than other models that seemed to follow a grid path around rooms. It was adept at navigating my rooms' corners and edges, and also create a "Zambani pattern" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station regularly to empty the dustbin and clean the mop with hot water prior to starting another task of cleaning.

Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. It takes just a few minutes to snap the dock into place, plug it in and connect to your Wi-Fi network at home. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able to dive into the settings and personalize my floor plan within about 15 minutes, including creating specific areas for sweeping and mopping, reworking my wall-mounted furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored highly in the areas of pet hair removal and debris removal, and also achieved near-perfect results in crevices and edge cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

The T10 Omni from ECOVACS is an extremely powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line, and features the latest OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for superior cleaning over traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also has YIKO integrated, a first-of-its kind natural language processing tech that can respond to a wide range of voice commands. The ECOVACS App allows you to plan your home, make cleaning schedules, and alter settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it's not able to switch from mopping to vacuuming in one run. The two modes require you attach and remove mop heads as needed, which is fine for most homes, but not an ideal choice for those with busy lifestyles.

However, the Deebot T10 Omni is a superb robot vacuum that delivers outstanding results in our pet hair tests. It was able to remove more than 96% of the particles we tossed at it on our hardwood floors, which is an outstanding performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles cleaning up the majority of dirt.

This robotic mop and vacuum comes with an enormous docking station that provides cool water cleaning for its mop pads, automatic emptying into a 3L plastic bag that is easy to replace, and hot-air drying for quick and simple maintenance. It also comes with a large tank of water that allows it to be washed and dried more often between mopping sessions.

The Deebot T10 comes with an integrated wash tray into its base, which is similar to other mopping robots. It makes use of the wash tray to rinse and dry the mop pads while it is using them. However, it doesn't have an open tray, robot vacuum mops which means dirty water, dust and other grime accumulates in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

This is the first model of mopping from Anker, which is known for its robot vacuums. It comes with upgraded smarts, multiple maps support, and LIDAR scanning, along with twin-turbine suction technology that adjusts to the floor you're cleaning. It's a mid-range robotic cleaner that's stylish even if the claim of being a one-stop-shop for floor cleaning doesn't come true.

The X8 Hybrid looks like a regular robotic vacuum cleaner from the top, with its circular shape, sweeping wheels and an elevated space for sensors. On the other hand, you'll see a motorised floorbrush and one side brush that pushes dust from the edges to the main path of its'mouth.' It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9 which I found made it easier to reach under chairs and couches.

The mapping system is quite sophisticated that allows you to create no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. However it tends to get into things (including its own charging dock) and isn't the best at climbing over rugs. It was good at collecting pet hair off carpets. In our tests it picked up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.

Although it can be controlled via the app, the X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to select the cleaning mode and switch the robot off or on. These buttons can be used to establish no-go areas and view real-time maps. It's a bit chatty too, and will tell you what it's going to do next ("start cleaning") or alert you that something's not right (it isn't able to charge, for instance).

4. ILIFE A4s

This high-tech vacuum model can remove pet hair, kibble, and other particles with impressive effectiveness. It also maneuvers perfectly around furniture legs. It also comes with a remarkable feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and a real-time obstacle avoidance system. The device that is Wi-Fi-connected can be controlled via the Neato App where cleaning schedules are set and maintenance requirements are monitored. The X2 Omni is a great choice for large homes with a mix of hard and carpet floors. However, it will need some planning ahead to avoid getting entangled with power cables, toys, or other obstacles that might be unexpected.

In our tests of hardwood floors and kibble, this robot performed well and picked up everything from one grain of rice up to many pieces of dog food in just one pass. It is a bit pricey, but if you can manage the price, this is a great option for those who want to leave their home completely free to perform other tasks or to take care of chores. The A4s Pro also offers a handy auto cleaning mode that automatically boosts suction power to handle difficult spills and dirt, and it is equipped with batteries that power the ElectroWall which allows you to define boundaries where the robot is not allowed to access.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular brand is the cheapest we've ever tested, and provides exceptional value for money. Its navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm, and it's not equipped to map rooms. This renders it less efficient than the best robot vacuum for pet hair other models on this list. It's still able to get under furniture and into the corners. Its mopping mode was very effective in our tests, picking up stray hair and other debris.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it does a better job overall in cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles as well as floors that are not covered. It also utilizes the smart-pathing software for better mobility. It can be positioned to a particular area and comes with a range of advanced automation options, including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you stop and restart cleaning sessions and is perfect for households with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll is able to prevent the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris and its self-emptying dock station can store up to 30 days of dirt before it needs to be empty. It also comes with an assortment of angled side brushes that go deep into corners, and its multi-stage filtration system can capture dust, dander, and allergens for a cleaner air.

This robot vacuum is well-built and feels solid. It has an app on your smartphone which lets you alter the settings of your vacuum and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app lets you check the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications if it encounters any issues during the cleaning session. You can also control it using your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't own either of these devices you can mark out areas by using physical boundary markers.

The iQ does a decent job of cleaning floors and doing a fair job with shaggy and low-pile carpet however, it doesn't have the same degree of autonomy as our top selections. It's also costly and its recurring cost can add up.
